Very Cool Collector’s Item
As the title suggests, I find these little arcade cabinets to be very cool collector’s items. They are definitely plastic and, as such, they are more toy-ish than of a super high, actually functional/playable build quality, so I would not necessarily recommend these for any serious gaming. However, as a display piece on your desk, shelf, etc., or even to pick up and play a quick round with just once in a while, they are great little machines. In short, it truly depends what you are looking for with these, but if that is what you are going for, you should not have any complaints.

An eagerly anticipated classic from My Arcade
UPDATE DEC 28 2024I’ve been playing this game for days since I opened it at Christmas and it really is frustrating. Even 40 years after I first played it I still suck at it, which tells me that this game is truly great!I mean it. This game is awesome! Perhaps the best one of My Arcade’s entire line up! It really is like going back in time for me. I can’t wait for them to update this to a slightly bigger format, if they decide to. It plays great it feels just like the original game and I encourage anyone to buy it.I’m still a little annoyed about the box not being perfect, but as far as the gameplay goes, it’s not too hard to go back in time to the old arcade games of my Generation X youth.Kudos to My Arcade for bringing this classic to life in such a realistic and honest way!————————————I can’t predict it yet, but I believe this one is gonna be a top seller for the people at My Arcade. This hotly awaited title has finally landed, and I expect people are going to be snapping it up in droves.Although I haven’t used it yet (I’m saving it as my own Christmas present this year), I’m positive from other reviews I’ve read that this is the real deal. The steering wheel is analog, the shifter and the brakes and accelerator work, and has a slightly larger screen. All this, along with the sound effects we remember, and you’re gonna feel like a kid back in your neighbourhood video arcade!I remember when Pole Position came out in the early 80s and how excited I was to play it. The graphics and the realism were very intense, as well as that sharp hairpin turn that almost everybody crashed or flamed out at. It truly took driving games to the next level and it remains a very beloved video game for us Generation X people. It might not have been the most popular game of the era (I think that crown still belongs to either Pac-Man and Donkey Kong – the latter of which I’m sure everybody also waiting for), it remains a beloved title and one that you better grab right now. It’s the perfect gift for the grown Gen Xer in your family and his or her kids. As a bonus it comes with Pole Position II, which was a nice though somewhat less exciting follow up to the original. The only reason I’m giving it a lower rating is because I wasn’t impressed with how it arrived. People have got to be a little bit more careful about how they handle shipping. I don’t blame the seller for that, but somebody has got to step up with this because when you spend money on these products, you expect it to be in pristine condition in every aspect, including how it’s handled in shipping.Beyond that you can bet your steering wheel that I will be playing this like crazy on Christmas Day if not, Christmas Eve.
