Good option for playing games on the big screen. The only thing is the games become pixilated on larger screens. I put mine through a 85inch tv and this happened, but I was aware of this before purchase.

The VS-R is a great way to have a retro gaming experience. All you.need is a t.v. or monitor with an HDMI input, and you’re almost good to go.I said almost, because you’ll also need a power supply unit (i use a spare from.an old moble phone) & an HDMI cable as evercade don’t supply either of them in the box. I can understand there are environmental concerns at work here (I think), but at some point our old existing spare PSU’s are going to go kaput, as many phone (and tablet) manufacturers have stopped supplying them with their new products, thereby creating a market for multiple third parties to make and sell them everywhere. I’m not sure if the same.holds for HDMI cables.The other issue, which required an hour of Internet research & eventual self solving, was that out of the box, the unit wouldn’t pick up the WI-FI Internet signal ,nor allow the D-PAD to function properly. In effect, I had to reboot the unit and then connect to the internet etc in order to resolve things. It would have been nice to have a small crib sheet to this effect, included in the packaging. I suspect evercade had supply issues in meeting the huge demand for this & the EXP-R last year, so maybe these things got sidelined a little in the process.The above aside, playing the included Tomb Raider games was great fun; they were harder than I recalled, but you have multiple save states and lots of usable customisation options for the display, and so on. The console itself also has unlockable games included (many of the codes are on the internet) and once connected to the internet, you get a downloadable game now and then too.To sum up, the console and it’s ecosystem are an excellent addition or a great way into the retro gaming ecosystem. Here’s hoping evercade help newer owners with slightly better documentation, and maybe an included cable and/or PSU too.

Pre ordered this on 18\8\2024 for £89.99 and still waiting for it to arrive. However when I click on the order it’s saying they have 30 in stock, but at £97.18 🤪😆🤭🤐Blade are getting greedy with their “budget” system. Sad thing is that I have every single Evercade cartridges, probably won’t be supporting them again for being greedy for a loyal customer

Got this for Christmas, opened the box, found there is a power cable but not a plug (usb type), but luckily had a spare, plugged it in, initially seemed fine, but the system suggested wifi to allow for updates, only it wouldn’t show me networks to connect to.Told it to wait till later, loaded in a game, started ok and then ended up not being able to turn left, a quick internet search revealed that a factory reset of the console fixes it, did it, all fine, really REALLY happy with it, so many nostalgic games, so much fun

Retro Gamers New Console
Since my purchase of this console & 10 game cartridges to test … I have to say that I am having a lot of fun , for a reasonable price 👍I’ve only had two problems so far . One was a bad cartridge ( defective & was replaced ) . Second being that the cartridges are a little finicky ( and tight ) inserting into the console . Don’t know if it is because everything is tight / new … or the way everything is designed . I find the best way to insert the carts is to wiggle them in , with ease , caution & care .Gameplay so far is very enjoyable ! So much , I also purchased a Hyper Mega Tech ! Super Pocket ( for when I’m not home )Hope this reviews helps !
